The Obligation of Tawheed (Monotheism) Prt1

Establishing Tawheed is the first and most obligatory of all obligations and it is a requirement upon ever pubescent individual to establish before their death if they expect to enter Jannah. Allah inspired into each and every individual that he is one,
Allah said:( And when your Lord brought forth from Adam's offspring their offspring and made them bear witness concerning themselves and said to them: Am I not your Lord? They said: Yes, we bear witness that you are our Lord. So that it can not be said on The Day of Judgement that we were not mindful of this.) {Al Aaraaf,172}.
And Allah also said: ( Then establish your face toward the upright religion the natural disposition of monotheism that Allah created the people upon there is no changing the creation of Allah and that is the firm religion but most people have no knowledge) {Rum 30}
and Imaam Muslim reported on the Authority of Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (May peace and prayers be upon) said: Every newborn is born upon the natural disposition of monotheism, after that his parents make him either a Jew or a Christian or Fire worshipper.
These evidences are widespread and well known yet the reality of these evidence have not been realised in many parts of the world including Islamic countries, therefore it is a must that the knowledge and reality of Tawheed be called to and explained with careful detail as Allah said: (So that whoever is destroyed is destroyed upon clarity and whoever is given life is given life upon clarity and indeed Allah is all seeing all knowing). {Anfal42}
Indeed the Scholars have explained that things are made clear through their opposites, so the reality of Tawheed is understood through realising what Shirk is, when it happened, how and why it happened and what is the cure.

1.Tawheed is a verb derivative in Arabic morphology that literally means to make a thing one, or to give a thing exclusivity , as for it's legislative meaning, then it means to: Particularize and single out Allah with all that he deserves from acts of worship to right of Lordship to being described and called by perfect names and descriptions that are free from all forms of blasphemy. Therefore in turn Shirk is the exact opposite so in Arabic Morphology it means to give a thing a share or partnership, and in the legislative meaning it means to Attribute to other than Allah that which is exclusive to Allah alone from the different acts of worship like supplication,fear, hope, reverence, lordship,creation,command, as it also includes denying Allah's names and or attributes or distorting them from their apparent meanings.

2.It should be understood from what has preceded that there was a point in time that everyone in the world were monotheist upon the same religion without any religious differences as Allah said: (Mankind used to be one united nation) {Al Baqara,213} and the only thing that divided them was the innovation of polytheism and this took place approximately 10 centuries after the death of Adam (May peace be upon him) and that was the reason for the sending of the prophets and messengers and the revealing of scriptures Allah said; ( Mankind was one united nation then Allah sent the Prophets as bringers of glad tidings as well as warners and he sent along with them the book with truth that they may judge between the people in that which they differed and none differed except( those who disbelieved) out of jealous and hatred so Allah guided those who believe from that which they differed in to the truth by his permission and Allah guides whom he pleases to the straight path). {Al Baqara,213} Al Haafith Suyuuti said concerning this ayat: (The people were one united nation) upon Imaan and then they differed because some believed and some disbelieved (Then Allah sent the Prophets) to them ( As bringers of glad tidings) to those who believe with Jannah ( as well as warners ) to those who disbelieve with the fire ( and he sent along with them the book) meanings books (with truth) connected to that which was sent down (that they may judge) according to those books (between the people in that which they differed) concerning religion (and none differed in it) in religion (except those who were given it ) given the book so some believed and some disbelieved (After the evidence came to them) clear proofs pointing to Tawheed.

Al Hafith Ibn Katheer said concerning this ayah: Ibn Jarrer said that it was reported to us by Muhammad ibn Bashar that Abu Dawuud said that Hamaam said that Qatadah said that Ikramah said that ibn Abbas said: there were 10 centuries between Adam and Nuh everyone of them upon a legislation of truth, then they differed so Allah sent The Prophets as bringers of glad tidings as well as warners.
